Dear Ms. Hulm,
I went to the VA last month and didn't see your friendly face and smile. I asked and they said that you have retired to Nebraska or South Dakota or somewhere and was informed that if I write you a letter and return it to the clinic they will see that it is forwarded to you.
Three or four years ago I signed up to get on clinic list and after 9 months I received an appointment to come in to the clinic. I was met by a most pleasant lady and I think that her name was Jean. It was indeed. She looked at my records and informed me that I was listed as deceased. She said that she would set up another appointment. I told her that if the next one took as long, I may well be deceased.
She routed the new one through the downtown office and in a very short time was having access to the VA clinics.
At the time the press was busy knocking the VA services and I thought that I was in the wrong place because every kind action and service spoke in a different hue and these actions were personified in the person of Jean Hulm. In the last year or so the press has recognized the the VA health service is ranked among the best and it is because of public servants of the calibre of Jean Hulm.
So wherever you wander,Jean, may the Journey be down hill with the wind at your back as you continue to charm those in your circle of influence.
As ever,

Knowing for certain that you are still with us is good news to all who know you.
Jean's persistence in the matter of your existence is certainly noteworthy, and now you have given credit to a Federal worker who deserves a pat on the back. Good for you!
Ann
