Sir:
Your Speak Out column always caters to the negative comments by people who do not wish to be identified and I've noticed letters before bemoaning this fact and you defend their right to be spineless. I know that one more letter would likewise be ignored.
The Fort Collins Coloradoan has a column called "Thumbs Up " in which positive comments come in and are published. I will share one of many comment from the October 20th edition.
" Thumbs up to all the Colorado public defenders and defense attorneys, especially Maria Liu, David Wymore, Naathan Chambers and Kathryn Hay. You make us very, very proud of your commitment to fairness, truth, justice and courage. God bless you, indeed.!"

Maybe a column in your newspaper that put emphasis on the positive would be beneficial as there is vast pool of people out here who feel very good about their lives in this community.
Maybe the nationwide trend of decline in newspaper circulation would be stemmed and maybe some vent writers would see a great day in the morning.

I sent a letter to a newspaper to praise a soldier home on leave from Iraq. He stopped to give us assistance after we had been stranded on the freeway due to a flat tire. Other cars passed us by for an hour, but he, traveling in the opposite direction, took an exit lane to reach us. The story was not published.
