Being treated to High Tea at the Fairmont Empress was the perfect way for a pretty young lady to celebrate her 11th birthday. Looking forward to reading the next post re the tea.
It seem like such a short time ago, but it's been 20 years since Dick and I had tea at the Empress. It was raining cats and dogs that day, so we stopped at a shop to buy an umbrella before going on to our destination. Oh those pastries! I ate more than my share, saving no room for our upcoming evening meal. On the way back to our hotel, we stopped at a chocolate shop. It was French, of course. The brand of candy we purchased was Callabaut(sp?) The taste of that fine chocolate still lingers.
