John Deere "A"

Our 1941 model "A"was similiar to this tractor only it was a row crop front end where the front wheels are close together.
My father bought it new in 1941 for our farm near Hills, Minnesota. Until we bought the tractor we had 12 work horses in the stalls of the barn.
There were little padcocks on each side that you opened to enable your to turn the fly wheel over in order to start the tractor on models before 1941 that didn't have self starters.

I enlarged the pictures of tractors, then finally spotted a familiar face. The Rye fellow himself was happily wandering from AC to Deere, and every other model of machinery. Next, I saw a smiling Ethel near the famous Singer. Hi Ethel!

What a fun-filled day you two must have had.
