The Inscription:

This monument has been erected for the citizens of Rock County in proud and grateful memory of her soldiers, sailors, marines and airman who laid down their lives in all quarters of the earth that other people might be free from oppression.

The names recorde here are those Rock County MIA soldiers whose earthly resting place is known only to God

If you will notice that the circle and the walk way to the monument are paved with bricks on which the names,date of service and branch of service are noted.The walkway leads to the street and this summer I paid the fee in order that my name and that of my brother, Raymond, will be placed in the walkway.
