Roger Nelson, DVM.The rebel years

Rebel years, just kidding, but Roger was mentioned in the last blog concerning the turkey day parade in Worthington, mn. so I thought that it would be a good time to bring in Roger's and Art's episode with Randy's 1931 Model A five window coupe with the rumble seat.
I purchase the model a when
Randy was five in about 1962 at Orv's station in Hills, Mn. It was stored in Grandma Rye's garage in Hills and later on the farm that Duane was renting. Roger called me in California and asked if he and Art could drive the Model A in a parade in Hills. Of course, I agreed.
Art and Roger had some trouble in getting it started so they called in Art's dad, a former rural mail carrier who rebuilt a model T with catapillar tracks so as never to miss a snow date. Well, alleged, Art or Roger suggested calling a mechanic from town. Now there was never a mechanic who knew more about model a's than Art's dad.
Maybe his feelings were hurt cause he fixed it out of their prescense and then after a week or so of pointing where the trouble was he shared the solution with them. Mice had built a nest in the muffler and the car would start and then would shut off because of the block off of compression.
This picture was taken in May of 1966. Some cool dude, what do you say?
