Dan's Diamond Back access

Dan shown here with Owen Craig, Jr., (deceased) fishing on a boat in the Bahamas on a joint trip we took with their family in the 70's.
We had left Minnesota in 1958 traveling to Riverside, California whileDonna was carrying Dan.
We had difficulty in finding a Dr. that Donna was confortable with so I went to the local Lutheran church and asked the Pastor to send out several pregant ladies. Little Owen's Mother, Betty, arrived on the scene and the families became life long friends.
Betty had been exposed to German measels and little Owen was born with a heart condition. He underwent numerous heart operations and managed to live a productive and loving life.
When Owen was 5 or 6 we joined the Craig family at an IBM shared retreat on Lake Tahoe.
Owen got on a go cart and took off and as we feared for his safety he sped around the track paying no heed to our attempts to stop him. All ended well!
Unknown to us, on this trip to the Bahamas the boys rented motor bikes and toured areas of the island that the parents would have felt umcomfortable with. Don't end a sentence with a preposition.
Anyhow, my dance partner, Ethel, and I used Brigid and Dan's tickets last night to see the DBacks defeated 2 to 0 by the Colorado Rockies.
Next week, Brigid, Summer and Dan will go to Seattle where their boat is housed and spend some time on the inland passage.
This evening the students at Summer's school will present an end of the year program which I will attend .. The programs are great and it is joy to my heart to see youngsters who are so creative and an inspiration to those of us who remember with fondness the days of our youth.
